The age old question, “why do we need a spouse?”
I think it comes back to drive. Have you ever tried to cook for yourself? it seems a pointless effort, but when you cook for yourself, knowing that you will enjoy it with someone, its a whole different thing altogether.
They can be irascible … but we prefer their companionship over isolated loneliness.
Though we love to be alone, we love to have someone nearby if you wish to be with them at any time.
SO yes, it comes back to drive. We will feel that we have to get up and kiss the day in the face, because we have purpose to live and keep living together.
